Phone is formally called telephone. It was invented as a device which uses a system of wires, along which electrical signals are sent to make it possible for someone to speak to another person in another place who has a similar device. Telephone later advanced from using wires to radio signals which brought what we called mobile phone. Mobile phone is a device which uses a system of radio signals which make it possible to speak to another person in another place. It can be used anywhere where its signals can be received.

The primary function of mobile phone which is common now is to receive and make calls. It makes it possible for us to hear the voice of our people who are far away. Regular advance in technology is what caused the production of sophisticated phones. In fact, the widely use of the internet prompted some phone manufacturers to add internet connectivity into their devices. Telecommunication companies around the world also introduced different data packages to their subscribers in order to give them good experience of the internet on their mobile phones.

Different platforms of mobile phone have been produced over the years. These include, java (s40), symbian OS (s60), android and iOS (windows). These sophisticated phones make it easier for us to use the internet. Application developers are releasing different applications to make us enjoy our phones. There are games, chat, information and educational applications for these platforms especially android and iOS. This is why mobile phone is indispensable for many people.

Moreover, your phone can be your teacher. That is, you can learn anything on your mobile phone. There are many educational applications that can teach you without a teacher.
