In this article, I will focus on mini cyber cafe using any internet connection that offers unlimited download. Starting a mini cyber cafe using simplified internet subscription packages. Some of the GSM network doesn’t offer unlimited download. However, some may have similar packages, you’ll need to find out if your network of choice have similar package to go with. Otherwise, you’ll have to settle with the ones available.
According to Google, over 45million Nigerians currently have access to the internet. These 45million people which may include you and I accesses the internet through 3 means; our personal Laptops and PC, mobile devices, and through cyber cafe (public computers). Browsing has become almost daily routine for everyone us, either for business purpose, entertainment, or research and education.
Hundreds of millions of hours are spent daily by those who have personal devices for accessing the internet, and another hundreds of millions of hours in Cyber Cafe by those who doesn’t have their own Laptop and internet connection.
Cyber_Cafe_Nigeria
Until now, running a cyber cafe has been a huge capital intensive business. You’ll need to invest in heavy broadband, buy huge infrastructure like V-Sat, do computer networking, and server administration; before you’d talk of paying for the bandwidth which runs into tens of thousands of Naira. At the end, what you’ll get will be nothing more than epileptic services.
With Etisalat and Starcomms Izap, you’ll enjoy unlimited downloads and faster services which is exactly what cyber cafe business is all about, and you can connect to a maximum of 5 computers to come up with a mini cyber cafe. As long as you’re within the area covered by 3G network, you are good to have your own mini cyber cafe.
Now is the time to be in business of your own, that’s what we are trying to achieve on this website, to help as many Nigerians as possible to start a business of their own. This mini cyber cafe is one viable business any serious person must think about seriously. If you’re ready to get started, here are steps you’ll need to take to start your cafe business.
1. Get an Empty Shop –
Look for a small affordable shop within where you live or anywhere you can find it, let it be possibly in a busy place but not necessarily very busy place because it seems everyone is browsing the internet these days, as long as people are living there, you are okay.
Depending on where you get the shop, the average rate is N1,500 – N6,000 per month. In some parts of Lagos, the price could be as high as N9,000 to N12,000 per month. Go for the cheaper ones, they are everywhere. You will need to pay for one year (1500 x 12 = N18,000) and some other charges like the popular agreement fee. Just budget around N30,000 to N100,000 for the shop, you may not spend all.
2. Furnish Your Shop –
You’ll need furniture equipment (Tables and Chairs), Put AC if you can afford it (a tokunbo split unit is ab
out N30,000, you can get cheaper wall AC) if not, just buy ceiling fans or standing fans for N4,000 each.
Paint your shop if it’s not yet painted and make sure it looks very nice, branding is everything in business as that will help you attract more customers and stay ahead of your competitors. Put TV in your shop too, for your customers entertainment. Generator is a must, except if Nigeria’s power supply changes for better tomorrow but for now, you must get a generator (N23,000) if you hope to be in business.
3. Source For Desk Top Computers –
You can get them in any quantity you want at The Computer Village in Ikeja, Lagos. But if you’re not in Lagos, then look for it in any hardware market near you. Don’t get any scrap and call it computer, go for fairly used CPU with higher memories and processing speed.
Don’t buy those old big outdated N1,000 Computer Monitors! Get Flat screen monitors with good image display, they aren’t more than N7,000 each and your customers will definitely like it.
4. Grab Your Unlimited Download Package –
With the unlimited download and the high speed connectivity, the Starcomm or Etisalat package which is ideal to the type of business we are looking at.
The pricing is very competitive with varieties of subscription packages, chose the package and hardware type that suits you most.
You don’t need much after these, all you need now is to put your equipment together and start your business. You can network your GSM Internet connection to the maximum of five devices. If you charge your customers N100 per hour and all your computers are occupied, you’ll be making N500 per hour. Multiply that by how many hours each worked, you’ll have something like this: N500 X 12 =  N6,000 daily from your modest investment!
In a month, you’ll be making N6,000 x 26 = N156,000. Assuming all days are not the same, you be making at least N100,000 Monthly.

BATTERY

  • Battery: 3000 mAh Li-ion Battery

5 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD NOT BUY THE TECNO CAMON C8

I assume you are now familiar with the specifications, time to tell you why you should not buy the Tecno Camon C8.
  1. BATTERY :
According to research Africans care about the battery capacity a lot and its the first thing they check before looking at other features the device have. We all know the situations of electricity in Nigeria. The Tecno Camon C8 comes with a small 3000 mAh Li-ion Battery, you might think this battery is enough but i assure you its too small for the Nigeria Electricity condition. I still find myself managing my Infinix Hot Note Pro 4000 mAh Battery you can just imagine how bad this could be. Alot of people might say the battery is 3k because they dont want it to be heavy and bulky, tell them to check out the Infinix Ho Note with 4k battery and it still comes with a sleek portable and awesome design. How can you enjoy a device the camera with this kind of battery if you are in a occassion taking shots for 5 hours?
  2. OTA UPDATE :
Till this moment am yet to see or hear a Tecno device that ever receives an OTA UPDATE or any kind of Update. What kind of company doesn’t release updates for their devices but releases a similar device with similar design and name but with a new OS. You might not get what am saying but i will give you a clear Example. Tecno P5 was released some years ago with 512MB RAM/2GB ROM running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean a year later Tecno released Tecno P5+ which comes with the then latest Android 4.4 OS and 1GBRAM/8GB ROM the price is also similar to that of the Tecno P5. Why should you buy a device that doesn’t have future plans for her customers but will rather exploit you by releasing new devices and forcing you to sell or dash out your device to get a new one for one reason or the other. Infinix released Android 5.1 updates for theit Hot Note, Zero 2 Devices and the future seems bright for more upcoming updates probably Android MarshMallow 6.0
  3. INTERNAL STORAGE :
Tecno said the Camon C8 is specially made for taking shots. Truly its meant for shooting and snapping awesome , colorful pictures but have you ever asked how large the size of this pictures are? They come in mind blowing sizes like 2MB,3MB but with good quality. Do you think 16GB is enough? Camon C8 is meant for taking pictures and recording lovely moments but how long will a 16GB INTERNAL STORAGE MEMORY last. I think the storage memory is too Tecno should have made it 32GB.
  4. RAM :
Do you know Tecno Camon C8 comes with 1 GB RAM and carries a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. Well i dont know about you but i think 1GB RAM is too small for a device with so much attention as the Tecno Camon C8 also the speed and processor makes it look like a device meant for kids, the Infinix Hot Note comes with a 1 GB Ram and it uses a Octa-Core Processor clocked at 1.4 GHz. Also the price is too much for this low end specification Tecno device.
  5. LACK OF USER COMMUNITY :
You might have heard about X-Club, This is the Infinix Community for their users and this is how they help consumers overcome their after market issues by creating a thread in the Forum and people are free to contribute to the discussions. This also brings about third party development such as Custom Roms, Rooting Exploit, Custom Recovery, Firmwares and so many more. A lot of people have been finding it hard to root their newly bought Tecno Camon C8 . Imagine if their is a Tecno community their consumers wont be migrating to Infinix and other top brands.
In conclusion, Tecno will always be the bread winner when it comes to cheap and affordable Android devices they are also the First company to compete against SamSung , Sony , Lenovo and other top brands in the Nigeria Market before they were hijacked by brands like Infinix , InnJoo etc due to their lack of Effective Online Promotion, Effective Advert, Promos and Banners.
Dear Tecno, if you are reading this article i hope you understand that AyoProxy  is not trying to bring you down but to tell you where you are lacking in the Smartphone War In Africa and how you can better.
What do you think about this post? Please take time to share and comment on this post and tell us your opinion and what we might have missed, i remain your Loyal, Humble, Capable AyoProxy. Thanks for reading my blog post.
