The word “lie”, is a false statement that can be told just to either prank someone or make someone not to understand something intentionally. Though everybody lies, but in this context, I’ll be explaining why most men lie to women in relationships. This is true because most men see it as a need to lie to women just because if the truth is being told, some certain targets can’t be met. It has become a part of every relationship that the man ‘must’ either lie to the woman to keep the relationship going or to risk ending the relationship if being told the truth. As to what I believe in, Men lie most in relationships more than the women.

Some of the reasons below entails the main views of why men intentionally lie to women in relationships.
Why Do Men Lie To Women In Relationships?
1. TO IMPRESS
The main reason men want to Impress women is the fear of rejection. As powerful and strong a man is, he still regards a woman he cares for and love. The woman has more power over him, she can make him weak or strong. Men fear the aftermath of women’s feeling, words, and reactions.
When a man proposes to a lady there is tendency that the man will lie to her. He lies to impress the lady of what he is actually not because of the fear of being rejected for who he is.  He thinks his status is not good enough to have her.  So he spice it up with lies to make his words sound sweeter and better to get what he wants. Some men thinks every woman want lies or believe that better.
2. FOR DEFENCE
Any man who cheats on his wife is likely to lie about what he did for his wife or the family not to react to it, therefore, he does this to defend himself. Some men pretend to be faithful, their words of lies shows they are faithful whereas they are not. They do this just to satisfy their wants. These words of defence is only to women they don’t want to loose or women who fits into their life plan. But if a man do not lie to cover up even when caught cheating it means the man does not see the lady as fitting into his life plan or tired of the relationship.
3. TO HONOUR WOMEN’S FEELING.
Most men don’t want to hurt women’s  feelings. They say all they can to make you feel relaxed and at ease even if 90% of all they said are lies. Perhaps, he has realised you do not agree or handle the truth he ones told you well. They will opt in to telling lies to please you. If you as a woman is the type who gets angry and dramatic when he tells you the truth,  you are training and encouraging him to lie.

4. TO AVOID FURTHER ARGUMENTS.

Most men with high thinking ability grasp that opportunity to maintain relief in their relationship by just agreeing to certain opinions instead of arguing. As a man, in some occasions when it looks as if the both are quarrelling and she just can’t stop arguing, he might not want to here more words from her so he tries to agree and lie about some certain key things just to avoid more arguments.

5. TO MAKE THEIR WIVES HAPPY AND PROUD OF THEM.
In a bid to make their partners happy and proud of them, they can just put up a little lie just to make their works hyped in the eyes of their partners and feel proud of them, whereas they’ve not gotten up to the extent of what they are about to achieve.
Virtually, many women has been lied to in one way or the other by men, but I’ve noticed that some men are not really given the opportunity to explain themselves out and sometimes due to the fear of the partner not been hurt. Actually, there is a treatment for men’s lie which is women. Women should make men feel comfortable to tell them the truth. The way women handle the situation after the truth matters alot. You have the power to make your man truthful to you.
You as a woman, try handle things in a calm way if you really want your man to tell you the truth.

Since 1969 when Lassa Fever was first experienced, cases of its attack on humans has been deadly and ranges between 300,000 to 500,000 yearly, with approximately 5,000 deaths according to “Wikipedia”. The name “Lassa” was gotten from the town where the first attack was experienced in Borno State, Nigeria, following the death of two missionary nurses. Lassa fever has now become a dreaded disease to some West African homes due to the widespread of the virus. Some of the countries in West Africa currently under the attack are; Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Liberia, and some other neighbouring countries. This virus attack is prone to death, that’s why the “WHO” advices that ‘any individual with some symptoms pertaining to the virus should be reported to them’.
CAUSES OF LASSA FEVER
The virus is an animal-borne/animal disease which can be transmitted to humans by rats and rodents. When this virus hits these rats/rodents, they don’t exhibit any symptom of its infection yet, the virus is then given off in their excreta such as urine and faeces, which can also act as a particulate matter in a gaseous or airborne cloud (solid, liquid and gas). Below are the summary;
1. Rats and Rodents
2. Exposure to animal excreta such as faeces and urine through the inhalation of tiny particles of infected animals.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
The generally observed signs and symptoms are;

1. Nausea
2. Vomiting (bloody)
3. Diarrhea (bloody)
4. Stomach ache
5. Constipation
6. Gastrointestinal tract (relating to the stomach and intestines)
7. Dysphagia (difficulty in swallowing)
8. Hepatitis (liver)
9. Cardiovascular system (relating to the heart and blood vessels)
10. Pericarditis (inflammation of the heart surrounded membrane)
11. Hypertension
12. Hypotension
13. Tachycardia (abnormally high heart rate)
14. Respiratory tract (breathing problem)
15. Cough
16. Chest pain
17. Dyspnoea (shortness of breath)
18. Pharyngitis (sore throught)
19. Pleuritis (relating to lungs)
20. Nervous system (nerves pains)
21. Encephalitis (brain pains)
22. Meningitis (headache)
23. Unilateral or bilateral hearing deficit
24. Seizures

PREVENTION OF THE DISEASE
The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) asserted that “Primary transmission of the Lassa virus from its host to humans can be prevented by avoiding contact with Mastomys rodents, especially in the geographic regions where outbreaks occur. Putting food away in rodent-proof containers and keeping the home clean help to discourage rodents from entering homes. Using these rodents as a food source is not recommended. Trapping in and around homes can help reduce rodent populations; however, the wide distribution of Mastomys in Africa makes complete control of this rodent reservoir impractical”.
In the case of helping people that are with the virus, they also said; “When caring for patients with Lassa fever, further transmission of the disease through person-to-person contact or nosocomial routes can be avoided by taking preventive precautions against contact with patient secretions (called VHF isolation precautions or barrier nursing methods). Such precautions include wearing protective clothing, such as masks, gloves, gowns, and goggles; using infection control measures, such as complete equipment sterilization; and isolating infected patients from contact with unprotected persons until the disease has run its course”.

TREATMENT OF LASSA FEVER
As part of the struggle to combat this virus, doctors have tried some possible means in which this virus can be treated. Ribavirin, an antiviral drug, has been used with success in Lassa fever patients. It has been shown to be most effective when given early in the course of the illness. Patients should also receive supportive care consisting of maintenance of appropriate fluid and electrolyte balance, oxygenation and blood pressure, as well as treatment of any other complicating infections. These are the ways it can be treated for now.
It’ll be better to prevent yourself from this virus so as to maintain a healthy life. You’ve read this, you’ve understand, educate others around you.

As part of the new life strategy that comes in the new year, people try to change from some certain things they’ve been doing that hasn’t been favouring them. Therefore, people bring up resolution for themselves in the new year, and some do stand by their words, while others find it hard to follow up to what they’ve decided upon.

Here are some ways ‘I think’ you can use to stick with your new year resolution and make life splendid for yourself and those around you.

1. Decide with your heart, be ready to fight against temptations.

This is the first thing I think you should do before thinking of having new year resolution. You should decide the plans you have for the new year and how you want it to appear in your life and things you’d want to change about yourself and the environment. Be ready to devote your time in your plans, take it as a challenge that you ‘must’ be committed to your plans no matter the temptations that will come in the process. Take it that you don’t wanna live that life of the past, you’re now in a new era altogether and nothing should stand as a barrier.

2. Note down/Write down your plans and resolution.

I think this should follow up after deciding your plans for the year. Write down the context of your resolution in a notebook, notepad or pc/mobile phone notes (a perfect example is the ‘Docs to Go’ app I use on my BlackBerry 10 smartphone). The reason why you need to write them down is to keep you focused and determined as you’ll be tracking your progress daily/weekly. Let your write-ups be succinct and straightforward, and should come in summary for you to easily read up and act.

3. Be aware of friends who will bring you back, keep them off you.

Before a target is been set, some certain things that will cause hindrance have to be removed. For example, one of your resolution is to stop ‘smoking’ and you know you have friends who have not yet decided that for themselves, you’ll have to stay far from them else you ‘might’ be brought back to what you’ve planned to leave. This is true and that’s why you ‘must’ need to stick with the number #1 point I wrote on and get alternatives to it before further processes.

4. Do not procrastinate, start somewhere!

Be true to yourself, don’t hesitate to carry out the tasks you’ve written with the influence of procrastination. Ensure to start somewhere amidst temptations. Procrastination only end up bringing your plans down and for you to make it, you need to start somewhere no matter what.

5. Act and Believe you can make it.

This is the last thing you should do, atleast, believe in yourself. Believe that you can do it no matter what the mistakes or error you might get, don’t stop until you’ve achieved the goal. Believe and trust yourself that you can make it. Know that ‘you can only if you think you can’.
Make the new year a favourable one for you and stick to whatever you believe in as far as it’s part of your target. Change yourself and change your environment in anyway you can and stick to your plans.

A 16-year-old Junior High School student shocked parents and police officers at Akyem Tafo District Police Command in Ghana when she openly admitted that she consciously allowed two Senior High School students to have se xual int ercourse with her in a room.

According to Ghana’s Daily Heritage newspaper, she also denied the parents’ allegation of being gang ra ped by the students.

Three second cycle students of the Institute of Professional Studies at Akyem Kukurantumi in the Eastern Region were arrested by the Kukurantumi Police for allegedly gang-ra ping the 16- year-old Junior High School student.

The suspects were arrested late last year, but were later granted police enquiry bail after the shocking revelation by the victim.

The Daily Heritage gathered that the parents of the victim reported to the police that the three suspects had gang-ra ped the victim after holding her hostage for days.

Police investigations led to the arrest of the suspects who were trapped by the victim to spend the night with her again.

The suspects were kept in police custody for further investigations for prosecution to begin; however, during interrogation by the Criminal Investigations Department in the presence of the family of the victims, the victim explained that, one of the suspects was her boyfriend so after evening studies, she decided to pass the night in his room which he shares with his friends.

The victim admitted consciously having se xual inte rcourse twice with the boyfriend and once with his boyfriend’s friend in the absence of the boyfriend since she fell in love with him (friend to her boyfriend).

The victim, however, denied having se xual intercourse with the third suspect during police interrogation.

The Akyem Tafo District Police Commander, DSP Agyenim Boateng, told The Daily Heritage that, the victim even though admitted having sexual intercourse with the two suspects, was not forced, hence, rendering the “ingredient of rape negligible to substantiate because it clearly appears to be a se xual intercourse which was consented to by the parties involved, therefore, it would be unreasonable to continuously detain the suspects.”

The police, thus, granted the suspects police enquiry bail with surety, while the docket is being prepared to the Attorney General’s office for advice.
